OPEN NOW – 2. NDIS Practice Standards & Code of Conduct

All courses will be free to Queensland learners until May 2026 as part of the Micro-Credentialling Program.

We are proud that this program is funded and supported by the Queensland Government.

This course, ‘NDIS Practice Standards & Code of Conduct‘ is the second of five micro courses in the NDIS Registration Readiness Series.

Each micro course is designed to support Queensland NDIS providers understand the formal requirements of NDIS registration and the systems and evidence they will need to be registration ready.

This down to earth pathway is suitable for quality system beginners, with a focus on:

  • translating requirements into the language of everyday humans
  • short micro bursts of learning that fit around your daily timetables
  • providing practical help in the form of tools and templates that are immediately useful.

While each course can be done independently, we do recommend completing the entire series.

Course 2. NDIS Practice Standards & Code of Conduct

This course will unpack the two major instruments used to judge provider quality in the NDIS – the NDIS Practice Standards and the Code of Conduct. It will also look at the steps to register from application to audit cycles.

After this training, you will be able to:

  • Understand the conduct rules every NDIS business has – no matter how big or small.
  • Understand the difference between the Code and the Standards, and how each is used.
  • Learn how to read the Practice Standard documents and identify actions needed to meet requirements.
  • Understand what is meant by a module and the different combinations of standards each contains.
  • Identify the combination of standards that apply to different businesses and what triggers them – including those that should apply to your service.
  • Define the application process and registration steps.
  • Understand audit obligations that apply to your service.
  • Use a straightforward method (HELPr) designed to help support workers and small business owners break down complexity and build registration-ready systems.

You will walk away with:

  • A Scoping profile for your service– built during the session and tailored to you.
  • A Code of Conduct self assessment
  • A Table Builder to plan your documents and Quality Indicator list.
  • Conflict of Interest and training registers that can be modified for your circumstance.
  • Worker screening record keeping templates for risk assessed roles and workers.
  • A HELPr action plan – showing your next steps, ready to grow as you complete more micro-courses.
  • Other ready-to-use templates, checklists, and guides you can adapt to your service.

You will achieve:

The micro-credential in NDIS Provider Responsibilities and Conduct upon successful completion.
