Open Now: 4. Risk to self, others and service

All courses will be free to Queensland learners until October 2026 as part of the Micro-Credentialling Program.

This program is proudly funded and supported by the Queensland Government.

This course, ‘Risks to self, others and service’ is the fourth micro course in the NDIS Registration Readiness Series.

Each micro course is designed to support Queensland NDIS providers understand the formal requirements of NDIS registration and the systems and evidence they will need to be registration ready.

This down-to-earth pathway is suitable for quality system beginners, with a focus on:

  • translating requirements into the language of everyday humans
  • short micro bursts of learning that fit around your daily timetables
  • providing practical help in the form of tools and templates that are immediately useful.

While each course can be done independently, we do recommend completing the entire series.

Course 4. Risk to self, others and service

This course is designed for people who do not have risk management training or advanced skills and particularly for small or sole traders who do not have a health safety team member to refer to when managing their risk.

It will unpack a major requirement for all NDIS workplaces and businesses including those wanting to become or maintain registration. Specifically, this course, covers risk management and an introduction to incident management.

It will look at the legal, operational and safeguarding responsibilities that NDIS providers have for risk management and the different compliance authorities and legislations they will need on their radar.

Topics looks at hazards and risk from both a workplace/WHS view as well as those unique to NDIS situations.

Like all courses in this series, ‘Risks to self, others and service’ focuses on applying learning fast, allowing services to see real visible progress well before they finish this micro course.

You will walk away with:

  • Work places and spaces review and duty holder record
  • WHS hazards self-assessment
